Quantic Dream have made some interesting games in the past. The technically impressive Heavy Rain, the confusingly psychological Fahrenheit (or Indigo Prophecy, depending on your region), but it looks like David Cage, the head of QD isn't done with gaming yet as he'll be unveiling new tech behind his studio's current project during an hour-long lecture at GDC 2012.
The lecture itself will have Cage discussing "how real time technologies can be used to create emotion and why he believes storytellers should be in control," with a big focus on casting, performance capture and art direction. The centrepiece of the presentation will be a never-before-seen tech demo that will show off QD's latest tech advances.
Cage spoke in a similar way back in 2006 at E3 when he showed off The Casting, which was eventually the predecessor to Heavy Rain. Quantic Dream's performance capture tech made for some incredible visuals and while some people have thought the creators of LA Noire, Team Bondi showed how facial recognition and emotion can help tell a story and influence gameplay, Cage might one-up them at their own game later this year.
We will keep GDC covered with all the news when the conference goes live on March 5th till the 9th in San Francisco.
