Sony Sessions is a type of media conference where Sony shows off their product line for the upcoming months. I think the latest date on one of them was in April. This is mainly hardware stuff, so I'll detail mainly stuff that was game related. I will say that they did have brand new consumer marketed 3D Camera's with anti-shake technology, brand new earphones (bluetooth and wired) that were noise-cancelling and sounded amazing, brand new Sony (not Sony Ericsson, just Sony) phones, brand new Bravia 3D TV's and there were two other products there, very gaming related that I will save until later. Now back to what happened.
It was the first of it's kind that I ever attended and I knew I had to be kind and civil and made sure I didn't want to step on any toes as I may wanna work with these people one day. But something kept ringing over and over in my brain of why was I there? Why of all the people was I here and then I remembered why. Because I made the effort. I reached out and asked Sony for a media contact and I got one and then I talked about stuff and then they sent me stuff and then they invited me there. Of course, this is just me justifying me and my job and essentially all that I am as a journalist. So let's just say that despite my pseudo-existential crisis Sony are nice people despite all the people talking shit about them and they invited me along and everything else was dandy.
The presentation was set to start at 12:30 despite my arrival an hour before and the feeding, which took place just after 12:15. The food and drink was amazing. It gave us all time to talk with one another. I met with a fantastic guy from Electronista and he told me about the fantastic scoop he got on one of the first Samsung tablets some time ago and we discussed Sony's future and this and that and before we knew it I was three sandwiches down and the presentation was about to begin.

Sony started to talk about the recent time at CES and how the main focus was user interaction and personalisation. Sony has definitely catered for that with their new line of products. One of my favourite things was their new HandyCam which could take 3D images and video in dual record but also you could project whatever you had on whatever clear flat surface was around, up to 100 inches. It was astounding that we've come this far in technology and Sony has streamlined it for consumers and professionals as well.
They also showed off their new 4000K projectors which look pretty badass. They said they could upscale anything to 1080p or rather into HD quality but I really want to see this tried and tested on something that usually isn't HD. They showed a trailer for the recent Sony Pictures flick, Anonymous, which I'm assuming the trailer was in fairly good quality. I want them to get like an old DVD or even VHS and project that and see how it looks.
They then talked about their new earphones, their new phones and a few other things before they opened up the room behind us and let us all through. So what was so exciting? So new? So interesting?! Well there was also a 3D TV there that was pretty sweet and their new glasses that offer 3 hours just based on a charge of a few minutes (5 according to their press release). Also the Sony Entertainment Network was pretty beefed up as being a big part of the user experience with their new phones being linked in to their TV's to show off their capabilities and how they could sync with them and have them run wirelessly.
Also announced was that starting next month you could go into any Sony Centre and borrow free 3D games and movies to test out on your new Sony 3D TV. Not sure if this will be implemented worldwide but it's a hell of a way to try out your new TV.
So what products did they outline at Sony Sessions? Well you'll just have to find out on the next page, if you haven't already guessed two of them.

So they sugarcoated your vision of them and you fell for it?; are you oblivious or you got paid?. Btw, did you get paid?.
Sony is one special case where products and company are NOT equals. They are and always be the same scum of the earth no matter how well their representatives smile at journalists for them to write positive reviews about them -it's their job!, after all-. And that aside... u got paid?

But that said, let me answer one of your questions; no, he wasn't paid.
If we were being paid to write good reviews I'd probably be in Sydney now.
