Though they could have easily charged for what is essentially a new game mode, Capcom has decided to give away Heroes & Heralds for free. In this mode, you choose whether you want to play as a Hero trying to protect the Earth, or as a Herald for Galactus, who as always wants to eat the Earth. That's a pretty tough decision, no?

In this mode, you'll have Ability Cards that give you bonus abilities like short-lived invincibility, etc. and you'll also have ranking points, which contribute to your personal total and that of your team. At the end of the week, only one team can win and the winner will be announced by Capcom. If you're on the winning side you'll get better Ability Cards and can win new character skins. The mode is also set up so you don't have to play dozens of fights a week to win some cool stuff.
