Finally: Desmond’s Story Wraps up in ACIII

If I asked you who the hero of the Assassin’s Creed franchise was, what would you say?  Altaïr ibn-La'Ahad? What about Ezio Auditore da Firenze? If you answered either of those names, you would be wrong—the hero of Assassin’s Creed is kidnapped bartender Desmond Miles, who lives the adventures of the other two characters through a device called the Animus. Somehow, all of the stories told by the four existing Assassin’s Creed games are supposed to have something to do with young Mr. Miles. Ubisoft just hasn’t been in any hurry to explain it.

Every time a new game in the series launches, fans eagerly await the scene in which they get to use their cool assassin powers in the modern-future setting in which Desmond lives (which, by the way, is set in 2012). And every time, we are disappointed. Sure, we got some random “beat up these guys” or “jump on these boxes” scenes, but Desmond’s story has largely been pushed into the background. However, it looks like this trend is finally ready to shift.

Lead writer Matt Turner, speaking with CVG, confirmed that the Desmond story is center to the events in Assassin’s Creed III. Here’s the quote:

"All I can say about Desmond's story is you're going to experience more Desmond than you've ever had before. We're spending more time on the present than we have in past games. It's a big part of our story and I don't really want to give too many details away because I want people to experience what that is. But rest assured, you're going to see a lot of Desmond. More so than in any past game.”

This statement lines up with creative lead Alexandre Amacio’s indication that ACIII would be the last entry in Desmond’s story (noting that it would be stupid to carry a story set in 2012 on beyond the actual year).
Hopefully this means we’ll finally see what happens with Desmond, and how all of his actions fit into place. We’ll find out when Assassin’s Creed III launches on October 30th.

Are you excited to see more of Desmond?

I didn't play the latest Creed game so I don't know what happens in that game, but from where I stand I only have to say:

Desmond had a story ?

You should play the last game ( or at least watch the relevant parts on youtube) cause it does tell quite a lot about desmond
