Final Fantasy has been such an expansive series that anybody who has tried to piece the story together may have only scratched surface to how great it is, but who cares when you're having so much fun. That fun will continue near the end of next year, hopefully without any delays. The game looks beautiful with some screencaps surfacing post-Tokyo Game Show, but will it still look that good later on. Not necessarily new screencaps, but ones that are enough to know that they've fixed a lot of bugs in the game and are working on making it a new free game with a microtransaction system.

Some rumours came out that the game series had to be revamped and with the series being over two decades and the last big change was FF12, I don't imagine too much will be changed. According to Squenix, October - December 2012 will be the big time, if not a bit vague, setting it towards the Christmas time schedule is a smart move for them as we've seen this year that it has become a big crunch time for developers...unless there are delays, of course. But with it being a new release, already meant to fix bugs, this hopefully won't happen.

Square Enix has had a lot of hits this year and hopefully a lot of that money has gone into developing something new for the series. I'm not a big fan of JRPG's or FF in particular. I feel it's all a bit melodramatic. That being said, I loved the Pokemon series when I was younger and the Squenix title The World Ends with You may be one of the most underrated RPG's ever made.

yep, FF XIV 2.0 is coming to ps3 and pc. Squares seems to be trying there hardest to make this part of the series an improvement of what it original was, a failure. I for one hope they succeed in doing so as i love a majority of game published by Square-Enix.

You may want to rethink article title considering FFIV/FF14 is an actual game....

I completely agree with the comment about the world ends with you, I kept my ds simply for that game. Also, i'm pretty sure you're talking about Final Fantasy XV, not XIV

The article is a bit misleading. Final Fantasy 14 will be relunched in 2012, with major upgrades and changes (all very needed). The game will get an huge upgrade patch, which is called Final Fantasy 14 ver. 2. It will then be released on the PS3 and Square Enix will start to charge money for playing it. Hope this helps clear things out.

this site is just getting more horrible every time I visit. Who approves these stories to go up on the site, as stated above it is a rerelease/update, are the people reporting this stuff not even following the gaming industry or know of what games exist or are coming. sadly, kotaku's layout is horrible now, so this is the only thing that even brings me back here but c'mon, someone with gaming knowledge proofread these damn stories.
