Final Fantasy 14 confirmed for late 2012 |

Final Fantasy has been such an expansive series that anybody who has tried to piece the story together may have only scratched surface to how great it is, but who cares when you're having so much fun. That fun will continue near the end of next year, hopefully without any delays. The game looks beautiful with some screencaps surfacing post-Tokyo Game Show, but will it still look that good later on. Not necessarily new screencaps, but ones that are enough to know that they've fixed a lot of bugs in the game and are working on making it a new free game with a microtransaction system.
Some rumours came out that the game series had to be revamped and with the series being over two decades and the last big change was FF12, I don't imagine too much will be changed. According to Squenix, October - December 2012 will be the big time, if not a bit vague, setting it towards the Christmas time schedule is a smart move for them as we've seen this year that it has become a big crunch time for developers...unless there are delays, of course. But with it being a new release, already meant to fix bugs, this hopefully won't happen.
Square Enix has had a lot of hits this year and hopefully a lot of that money has gone into developing something new for the series. I'm not a big fan of JRPG's or FF in particular. I feel it's all a bit melodramatic. That being said, I loved the Pokemon series when I was younger and the Squenix title The World Ends with You may be one of the most underrated RPG's ever made.
