If you're looking for the most popular video game in Europe right now, look no further than EA's newly released FIFA 2013. Despite being among the bevy of great new titles available now, when it comes to the continent that loves them some soccer this game shattered and demolished everything else in its wake. In fact, the title did so well, that many analysts believe that it helped sales of the new PS3 Super Slim climb across the region. Just how well did this soccer title fare? The shocking stats come in the full story!

If I had to use a completely lame metaphor, I would have tp say that for EA Sports FIFA 13 has certainly scored an unquestionable "goal" to gaming fans across the world. After all, it's hard to argue against the great praise given by many related publications, many of which placing the game above a nine on the ten point rating scale. It is true that this particualr title seems to have revolutionized the long-running franchise, so you can imagine that gamers in Europe especially were eager to pick this one up.

According to compiled sales figures, the new game passed last year's record setting release making this iteration the third biggest selling multi-platform release of all time. Unit revenues were up to a full 31 percent in simple unit revenue, while 2012 boasted only 27. With so many people getting involved in this game then, you can bet that console sales are going to boom. The PS3 in particular seemed to do the best with sales increasing by 138%. Of that stat, 37% of these were the new super slim system variety. Those Europeans certainly love their soccer, but with good reason given this title's high ranking. Pass, shoot, score for EA.

What you ignorant americans play is handegg not Football, you don't use your foot to kick the ball (Thus far Football). Yeah, I seen you do but it's rare.

Football or Soccer... who the hell cares? So I'll stick with Soccer, thank you very much.

Either way, Soccer is fun to play but boring as hell to watch. So if we American don't kick the ball 90% of the game but at least we don't have to act to win a game. We should call Soccer "Acting Sport" or "WWE" instead. Our sports is way tougher than you sport. Hell, I rather watch Golf than Soccer.

Soccer is so boring that they don't even stop the clock. It's as if they realize "hey, this is such a waste of time - just let the clock run so we can be that much closer to getting a beer."

Q: Why do the announcers yell "Goooooooooooaaa aaaaaaaal!!!!!" when someone scores?

A1: to wake up the audience
A2: to show people that yes, it is actually possible to score on a net that is a half-mile wide, even though it only happens like 3 times a season.

(editor's note: a half-mile is about 14,000 kilometers.)
