Fall of the Artificer - The SCE Liverpool Title That Never Was |

Some concept artwork has emerged from the ether that shows the early workings of an SCE Liverpool game called Fall of the Artificer. It's pretty old stuff from 2000-2001, so don't expect to be exactly blown away visually. The studio, which created Wipeout and Colony Wars, among others, was originally known as Psygnosis when it was founded in '84 and was creating this game alongside Team Soho's Dropship: United Peace Force.
For some reason, Dropship: United Peace Force actually saw the light of day and Fall of the Artificer fell into steampunk eternity. Dropship ultimately was critically acclaimed but didn't sell all that well.
The concept art below is from Matthew Cooling's website. He's the concept artist who worked on the game, naturally. Somehow I think a game like this would get published right quick nowadays. The times, the always are a-changin'.
Check out the art below, it's got mad monkeys!
