Europe didn't show love for Twisted Metal - Jaffe

If you're a fan of Twisted Metal and you're from Europe, then you've got some convincing to do with David Jaffe. The Eat, Sleep, Play big boss apparently does not believe that the game ever was a hit in the region.

calypso"We all know that Twisted has never been as big of a hit in the European territories as it has been in America. Hell, has it even ever been considered a 'hit' at all over there? I really don't think so."

This was the sentiment he shared on his blog just before a press event with both US and European journalists. Nonetheless, he is optimistic that the new Twisted Metal coming out should be able to expand the franchise's fanbase all over the world. Jaffe also teased some new footage for the game soon, being very careful not to let anything else slip.

The original Twisted Metal title came out on the PlayStation and PC back in 1996. The new Twisted Metal is expected to come out in the US on October 4, 2011.

Never been a fan of car destructions, but Twisted Metal is a good fun game.

America shares the same taste as the game because they got NASCAR, and all those other car destruction derby sports.

Jaffe, stop eating so much fast food it's making you fat.

He's fat so he's American, stereotyping lulz. :D

The French European stereotype, yeah right...

British got yellow teeth, drink tea all day and live in castles.

Americans eat shit (fast food), fat as pigs and occupy 2-3 seats everywhere, always with the smelly fast food stink.

The American stereotype is the worst and most provocative, ehehe.

It may now have been a hit, but it feels like it still managed to stick in the mind of gamers, however.

I live in Sweden and I'll be the first to say that I absolutely adored that game as a kid. There were many sleepless nights when we went co-op in Twisted Metal 2 or tried desperately not to kill a specific pedestrian in Twisted Metal: Black. Awesome games and awesome memories, ever tried playing "catch" in TM:Black? ^^

never played the games... never heard of the games before the new one was announced. I guess Jaffe is right. But it looks like some good fun :D
