ESRB rates FFVI for PS3, PSP

ESRB's got some very great news for all you Final Fantasy fans. While the sixth iteration of the looooong-running franchise had been sweeping Japan off their feet (we totally mean that in a good way) for a while now, it looks like North America's about to be hit by the same love bug.

Yes, Final Fantasy VI has just been rated by ESRB for both the PS3 and PSP, marking it as a PsOne classic for the region. Final Fantasy VI, if you must know, will be clocking in at 185MB. This detail was revealed by no other than Shinji Hashimoto via Twitter.

On top of that, it's also been announced previously that FFVI will also be making its appearance on the virtual console, although it's going to be under the monicker of Final Fantasy III.

So really, there's no stopping the FFVI invasion across all consoles. All you have to do now is to download it and then enjoy.

This is easily one of the best FF games, ever. I'm not a notalgia whore, FFVIII was my first, I only played VI a couple of years ago, but by God it's worth playing.

Also, this has the added benefit of automatically being better than the GBA port, since they're likely using the SNES version as a template.

In topic it says its almost 190mb big. That means its probably the PSX version with some fmv's in it.

Kinda nice though.

Now on to FFVII remake though.

It took them far too long to do this... I purchased the Anthology because I couldn't wait.
It runs VERY well on PSP and PS3!!
The midi drivers are MUCH better than PS1, so the music/sfx sounds like the original SNES! No more of that crappy off-pitch music!!
Also, PS1 loading time is vastly improved on the newer playstation systems.

cool! can't wait to play. damn, so many final fantasy games to play. haven't even finished the final fantasy iv yet. lol. oh well, it's better than the new one (xiii) anyway. haha.

So they're just slapping the Anthology into an eboot...

Couldn't they have at least taken the translation off the GBA version?
