EA Sports finds FIFA 12-PES 12 competition as 'good' |

FIFA 12 gameplay director Aaron McHardy concurs with this concept, seconding that having a competition around is definitely a healthy exercise. In the context of their particular game, FIFA 12, he finds Konami's PES franchise as a worthy opponent.

"I think it's a good thing to have big competitors like ourselves and Konami in the same space. We're always pushing each other, and we've always got one eye on what they do. They've been making fantastic games for years. And, you know, we're watching what they do and they like to watch what we do."
"I guess the two big games in the same market really push each other to really not relax and keep pushing the boundaries of what can be done in a football game. So it's good to have the Konami guys around. And I'm sure, like I said, they're watching us and we're watching them and we're pretty conscious of each other."
Just last week, the FIFA 12 cover athletes were revealed to be Manchester United's Wayne Rooney and Arsenal's Jack Wilshere. The game will also pose quite the challenge for old-time fans, as it will require you to "unlearn" everything that you knew about the game.

Otherwise EA wouldn't have gone after exclusive rights like they did with the NFL, NCCA, and formerly with NASCAR.
We know NASCAR took the licence away because the games got progressively worse each year.
The NFL could give the same reason for pulling the plug, but they enjoy the money way to much to allow competition.
And NCAA.... well, that's the only bright spot of EA's exclusivity.
