EA launches Mass Effect 3 discs into space |

In slightly batshit insane PR news this week, Bioware and EA have decided to send their upcoming space game, Mass Effect 3 into orbit. There are no plans for EA to launch their next Medal of Honor game into Afghanistan, but don't hold your breath for that one.
So apparently six copies will be launched into space and will be able to track their descent as the games will be launched via weather balloons from New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Berlin, London and Paris. ME fans can monitor it on the official Mass Effect 3 website and on their Twitter account, as GPS co-ordinates are posted every hour or so. Whoever arrives to the landing zone first when the games make their descent can claim the game.
While they have not said which console each games will be launched as, one can only wonder how many people will genuinely be chasing these games and hope that it doesn't land in water. Now you may say, oh hey, they're not launching it into space, the weather balloons are basically gonna make it to the "upper atmosphere" and never leave the earth's gravitational field, so you are actually completely correct and it's nice to know intelligent people read this site.
So check out the official Mass Effect site for more details and follow them on the Twitter account and who knows, it might drop on your neighbours house.
