E3 will miss Kojima

This year's E3, despite all that lovely announcements we're expecting to hear, will be sorely missing out on one important person who has always managed to give the event just that right amount of extra jolt of excitement.

Unfortunately, Hideo Kojima won't be showing up in L.A. this year. He relayed this very news through his Twitter account: "Since I decided not to go to E3, I made an interview video hastily. Asked Mr. Mark MacDonald (former editor at EGM/ 1Up.com) to be an interviewer.

Hmm.. if that's the case, then maybe the video interview is a sort of way to make up for his absence at this year's event. It sure is a shame, since Kojima's also confirmed earlier that there won't be any MGS5 showing up at the event. I'd like to think that him skipping out E3 doesn't have anything to do with that year-long work of his that's now proved to be meaningless, but you never know.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hideo was to go to E3, the guy is always saying one thing and doing a complete other.

But, to put light to the subject. Hideo has been working on something for a while that seemingly got trashed and he was upset by that. If this is the reason for his E3 hiatus, then it makes sense. But Peace Walker IS being redone for PS3, that much is not vague, he has the cast from Peace Walker doing Voice-Recording work right now.

Next year is the 25th anniversary of Metal Gear and Hideo has already stated he's working on something BIG, maybe he's saving all of this for E3 2012... but again, I think we STILL could see him at E3 this year.
