Doom 3 BFG Edition Looking Good, but What About Doom 4? |

QuakeCon 2012 has come and brought a little news on the Doom front with it. The Doom 3 BFG Edition is shaping up nicely, as shown in the new trailer below. This version will be repackaged and remastered, featuring upgraded graphics, 3D support, head-mounted support, improved rendering and lighting, and 5.1 surround sound. There will also be a new checkpoint save system and a handy dandy armor-mounted flashlight.
The BFG edition will also feature The Lost Mission, which is what is mostly depicted in the trailer below, and it contains seven missions. The Resurrection of Evil expansion will also be included. On top of all this, Doom and Doom 2 will be thrown in for good measure. And it will be a budget title. It'll be out October 16th.
But what about Doom 4? When he spoke about it at his QuakeCon keynote, John Carmack said that most of id Software's manpower and resources is focused squarely on Doom 4. They even put aside their mobile division work to AAA development. There's still no timeframe for us, though. He merely said that Doom 4 "will be done when it's done."
