DICE Rebalancing Weapon Attachments for BF3

Like a lot of other multiplayer shooters, Battlefield 3 suffers from natural selection. It's only a matter of time before the community that plays the game figures out what weapons or attachments work the best and everyone that's anyone flocks to them. Meanwhile, there's a whole bunch of other stuff that the designers put in place that gets ignored by everyone but the "noobs."

 

The folks at DICE recognize this trend in Battlefield 3 and they aim to remedy it. DICE gameplay designer Alan Kertz put up a post on Reddit entitled "Discussion of BF3 Weapon Accessories, and Their Futures!" in which he said he was thinking about doing some tweaking to increase the players' choices. In other words, your choices as a BF3 player are limited because there are some accessories that are "the clear winners in almost all categories" according to Kertz.

I think the tac light needs slightly more nerfing, and heavy barrels need a serious buff to range because at the moment the accuracy increase is hardly noticeable.

Tac light is still nuts and I still thing scope glare should be turned down.

That being said, I play mostly Support and haven't unlocked anything in what seems like forever.

Make it more fun too! Im tired of unlocking a gun that sounds the same as the last and a little bit more health like bad company 2. You die too fast in this game and feels like COD all over again.

Buff explosions
Nerf Perks.

My 2 claymores going off should kill at least one person who runs through two explosions. That perk is really cheap.

Buff the IR scope and make it back to what it was before the most recent patch.

Nerf the "rocket launcher" that mounts on i think its shotguns.

I'm gonna have to say that your claymores are either facing partially the wrong way or those ppl are jumping them. I personally have been raped by just 1 claymore plenty of times.

I would also have to say nay to the buffing of explosions. Plenty of times have I been more then 10 yards away from a grenade and gotten killed by it still or even while behind a wall. it is pretty stupid Imo. Rocket launcher explosion though i have seen could use a buff. When standing on a hill and shooting down towards a group of 3 enemies huddled together i should be able to kill all 3 if I land the rocket right in the middle of them (which I have done) but only 1 dies. wtf is that crap.

I agree with the IR scope. i want it back to the way it was before and the "Rocket Launcher" on shotguns i have no clue what you are talking about, but I can tell you that I am sick of ppl using noob tubes (Read USAS 12 with Frag rounds) and just spamming that shit all over a map and thinking their hot shit with it cuz they spam the ammo all over the place.

I get plenty of kills with people without flak jacket and I shoot rockets at people feet.

Explosions should kill if they are right next to their feet period flak jacket or no. (That is even on hardcore)Trust me I came up with what was known as the "rayn bomb" in CoD MW2. So my ability to lay a claymore is a non issue.

Claymore/C4 combo was made up by me and no one else.

Also shrapnel needs buffing in BF BC:2 you blow out a wall and the enemy is behind it they die. So I think that needs some work.

The only thing they need to do about explosives is add bombers and make some explosions more to scale. Some are kinda small so people don't freak out constantly getting burned.

Yeah I think the nerfing of the IR scope was total bullcrap. It's those cod like people who complain about something no one even notices or cares about. I get owned by a crafty people once and awhile but i usually get payback on them i don't just hope on forums and b*tch about it.

Oh and you're referring to frag rounds for shotguns. Yeah those are weak as hell. I should be able to shoot a door in a cement wall with them to be quite honest. I've been killed maybe 5-10 times ever by those. They're actually quite wicked, you gotta try this.
Choose the spetnaz sniper scope on an AR and get the shotgun attachment w/ frag. Shoot long range and you'll get a feel for the drop of the projectile. The get your sights on someone and fire 2-3 shots and if you hit em they should be dead. It needs more radius on the explosion and they gotta fix the old glitch where every type of shotgun ammo you shoot it always shows the birdshot animation, gets annoying when your doing long range slug shots.

Sniping, esp on hardcore, is nowhere near as satisfying as it was in BC2. In BC2, you could hit someone once in the middle/upper torso (think head or heart) and they would drop with 1 shot. I have hit people in teh face and they don't die. It baffles me to the point of just going as support and spraying bullets. It seems a million times more effective. Also, why can you jump out of a 3rd story window and live, but you can't jump from the bridges in Operation Metro into the canal below without committing suicide? I know water is more forgiving than cement. Also also, stereoscopic 3D like the PC version. Thanks!
