We had already heard about Dead Space 3's microtransactions and how people reacted to the news. Well, let's have a look-see at what exactly that will entail. Well, OK, these are technically different because you can't unlock these through gameplay at all.
But first, let's see what Steve Papoutsis has to say about the bots in Dead Space 3, since they're a new thing and you can download packs to improve them. "The scavenger bot's purpose is to give you an extra edge, since there's a bit of gameplay (and risk/reward) to using him and finding the richest resource caches," Papoutsis said in a blog post.
"You can also choose to download upgrades to the scavenger bot that double his capacity or speed up his trips to the bench."

I'm not sure EA knows what microtransactio ns are.
Perhaps though, they know and know also that most people don't know.
Whatever the case is, people will buy it time and time again.
