Now, if you already played the first Dead Island, you know it mainly revolved around combating zombies in an open world environment. This time around, there’s still more pain in the ass zombies to deal with, but the overall plot is a tad different. Dead Island Riptide takes place in an island setting that was destroyed by a monsoon. Weather is supposed to play a major factor, and teamwork will be a must. Thankfully, a new fifth character will step in to help stop the zombie invasion.
Coop mode will feature some new communication methods to help you work better with your teammates. Hub defense missions are said to be another highlight, where you’ll have to protect your fellow humans against zombies by setting up fences, traps, and turrets.
Look for Dead Island Riptide when it launches in 2013 for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
