Dead Island goes gold

Deep Silver and Techlands open-world zombie-fest, Dead Island, has officially "gone gold" and is now making its way to retailers to meet it scheduled release date. Along with the announcement, the publisher also released a new trailer of the game, this time, showing off the co-op mode of the game.

"Only teamwork can get the four different protagonists of Dead Island through the seemingly insurmountable odds and dangers that await them on the zombie infested tropical island of Banoi," notes Deep Silver in the press release. "Their different skillsets complement each other and give them the ability to oppose the hordes of zombies that await them around every corner of the former holiday paradise.

"Dead Island offers a seamless co-op experience for up to four players with easy drop-in/drop-out mechanics throughout the whole game," it added. "When playing with friends its all about fighting together and watching each others' back or..."

Dead Island will be available on September 6th in North America and September 9th in the rest of the world. A slew of limited edition package of the game is now also available for pre-order which comes in a Steelcase packed with goodies and extra contents depending on your region.
