Dead Island first DLC this month

Deep Silver has announced that they will release the first downloadable content for Dead Island later this month.

Dubbed as the "Bloodbath Arena," the DLC pack will feature four new maps with an all new horde style mode, a brand new weapon and some new objectives.

DLC features:

  • New weapon: The brain wave bomb
  • Build up XP and loot items to bring into your campaign
  • Four deadly and hazardous areas.
  • Endless waves of zombies


The DLC will be free for customers who bought the special edition of of the game which includes a code for the content. It will also be available for purchase for those who own a regular version, though no word on the price yet. The open-world zombie shoot fest have been plagued with numerous problems since the first day. This includes the incorrect PC version of the game that landed on Steam, the numerous bugs that needed a day one patch, and the recent "Feminist Whore" blooper.

PS3 trophies not popping.

I think the save problems may have been fixed by the patch.

Otherwise really enjoying it.

I had one issue, a mission where you are supposed to get a key (near beginning of game) off a guy to unlock a safe. You end up going downstairs into a bathroom, after obtaining the key I could not emerge from the dark stairway, I would get to the top to only be pushed back down. Had to reload last save and redo the mission.

Aside from that problem, I've not run into anything else yet, however I also haven't been able to play much due to working 12hrs/day the past 4 days.

The DLC for Blood Bath Arena is $10, they announced that before launch.
