Nobody knows exactly when PlayStation Network services will be back to normal, but Sony's problems won't just suddenly end when it finally does. The company still has to make compensations to all parties affected by the outage or risk losing them. That doesn't just apply to consumers but to third-party developers as well.

"I have no idea yet what Sony are going to do to help developers such as ourselves but I have a feeling they are thinking about doing something or they will lose developers which of course is pretty bad for them," said Q-Games' Dylan Cuthbert.

Q-Games is the studio responsible for the PixelJunk games and is considered one of Sony's top PSN developers. As such, the outage has affected the studio's bottom line severely since nobody can buy their releases.

The Q-Games boss remains optimistic, however, saying, "At the moment I think they are running around patching holes etc., and in a week or two they'll have something more concrete to say".

In its latest PSN status update, Sony said they expect "a few more days before we see the services resumed."

Never really thought about it before but I wonder what kind of help Sony will be giving these devs.

As long as no real developers complain.
And what do they mean by "help developers such as ourselves"? Are they trying to seek monetary compensation for the outages?

What do you mean by "As long as no real developers complain"? PSN developers are real developers as well.

All these guys did was the XMB and over 9000 variations on pixeljunk. When someone important, like Capcom, Squeenix, or Konami complains, then I'll care.

Being a developer these days and not able to make profit sucks, I'm sure Sony will compensate them but if not, they'll just switch to another system.

Hmm I guess they might shun Sony for a while. But in the long run I think they'd hurt themselves if they didn't develop for the PS3. (It is quite a big market.)

I guess Sony will have to compensate them somehow though.

I hope they find those hackers and make them pay the dept. Even if they have to live with a bare minimum of cash for the rest of their lives. F*ck those bastards!

dout it some how. devs can still carry on making games when service is offline and ps3 is one of the biggers game consoles in the world

You for get if the psn mini games are exclusive to the psn they can't sell them right now which means they are losing money. If money runs low due to loss of revenue which in the case of some of these smaller companies is possible then they can not keep making games. So in reality it is possible some of these developers are hurting as they depend on the psn store for much needed revenue some these developers.

Be careful with this, not everyone is able to use this. A wired connection with a PC not laptop is needed for this.
