Deep Silver is Zombie Bait
If you're a fan of the Dead Island survival horror series, then chances are you're probably willing to put up with some pretty blood-soaked stuff. Still sometimes these silly game developers can take things just a little bit too far for their audience. That is exactly what happened with the Zombie Bait collector's edition of Dead Island Riptide. Among its collectables, the set features a ridiculously gory statue of a woman's torso in a bikini with her limbs cut off. The company has since apologized for the blunder.

Obviously, I would say this is an incredibly smart move by Deep Silver. Taking a look at the screenshot above, there's no denying that this statue is just plain disturbing. Especially with all the violence outcry recently, this is the last thing consumers want to see. Sure we love killing virtual zombies, but who wants a physical thing that gross to look at? Deep Silver did the right thing by apologizing, but we'll have to see if the Zombie Bait edition still goes out to stores. I personally think they would be brain dead to let that happen, but we will see. Why not give us some more DLC instead? I think we would all appreciate that a little more than a stupid statue of any kind. Maybe it's just me but I find little figures like that to be pretty worthless on preorders.
That's all for this week, but you can be sure that I will return with more Confessions of a Gamer covering the top stories from the week ahead!

Still, this would be a year after the Wii U has been out, so maybe a drop would be in order.

Used games will eventually be blocked by both of them to help the developers, but that may mean a price drop in new games.
Looks like you'll be sticking to PC. Which ironically also does not support used games.
