PS4 May launch Without a Dualshock
As loyal Sony fans, most of us probably have fond memories of the Dualshock controller. Since it launched with the PSOne in the late nineties, the design has been the staple of the PlayStation brand. So much so in fact, that the community at large revolted when it was revealed that the PS3 might feature that god-awful boomerang style remote. With PS4 on the horizon, some have said that the Dualshock 3 may be the last one we see, and I'm inclined to agree with that.

As much as I love the traditional controller design, we still need some kind of refresh considering things haven't changed much with it for over a decade. Do I mean something strange like the boomerang? Absolutely not. It wouldn't hurt to look at the Xbox 360 remote for a bit of inspiration though. During long gaming sessions, something more spacious would do us all a bit of good, and that comfort in what the 360 has is something Sony must have taken notice of by now. Keeping a design like that while integrating some kind of small touch screen would offer integration with the PS Vita and competition for the Wii U too. Sony has always released weird controller peripherals that never sell well in favor of tradition, but if they start out with something new and do it right the first time it might mean good things for them. If they screw it up, a Dualshock 4 is always welcome, but I see something different coming before that.
Taking a break from the future for a bit, continue as I share my opinion on violent games.

Still, this would be a year after the Wii U has been out, so maybe a drop would be in order.

Used games will eventually be blocked by both of them to help the developers, but that may mean a price drop in new games.
Looks like you'll be sticking to PC. Which ironically also does not support used games.
