Chase Down Bin Laden with New Medal of Honor Maps |
Listed in: News Tags: EA, Medal of Honor, warfighter, zero dark thirty
Osama Bin Laden was the asshole terrorist responsible for the 9/11 attacks against the United States. He’s dead now, thanks to some sneaky maneuvering on the part of a few Navy Seals. And since there’s nothing more profitable than taking advantage of post-9/11 patriotism, EA has revealed a Bin Laden-hunt-themed map pack for Medal of Honor: Warfighter, titled Zero Dark Thirty.

Zero Dark Thirty takes players on a tour through two of Bin Laden’s suspected hideaways in Pakistan. The pack will come free with purchases of Medal of Honor’s Limited Edition, with an independent release slated for December 17 at $9.99. But before you get upset about EA taking a national tragedy and turning it into a profit machine, remember this: the company will donate $1 of each sale to veteran’s charities. A whole dollar! That the charities get to split!
Then again, the DLC pack does tie into Hurt Locker director Kathryn Bigelow’s upcoming Zero Dark Thirty film, and EA is promising to donate at least $1 million total.
So good guy EA? Or sneaky cash grab? Seems to be somewhere in the grey area.

or is this the equivalent of the old adage "time plus tragedy, divided by the importance of the person/event equals comedy"?
well, if you replace comedy with gaming, anyway.

World War II was a big tragedy and look at all the wonderful little war simulators we have for that.
How many games do we have that glorify Hitler?
