Carmack sells Rage as the 'best looking game'

No question about it, id Software will be pulling all the stops for Rage. John Carmack is claiming - and he's been very consistent with this - that Rage is just about the "best-looking thing out there."

So said the developer, "Rage is arguably the best-looking thing out there, but my personal point of pride is that it runs at twice the frame rate of almost all our competitors'. It is a 60FPS game that looks like nothing anyone has seen before.

I had the opportunity with this generation to push the graphics in artistic directions that could have been somewhat more exotic that what we chose here, but it would have been at the expense of being a 30FPS game. I made the early decision that, if we pick this technical direction, we could have this environment that looks incredibly awesome, but can be done at 60FPS."

Rage comes out in a mere couple of months, in October, for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. id is also promising that there will be no 'cookie-cutter' multiplayer mode, as well as a disc space requirement of some 21-22GB, at least for the Xbox 360 version.

So what if it looks good, I've played hundreds of games that looked amazing at the time but as soon as something better comes along i never touch the game again, i mean i still play Super Mario 3 more than any other game because it's an excellent game, but 99% of FPSs just disappear when the next one arrives.

truth be told, i got into quake4, got bored after a couple of hours, got out of it and back to the likes of quake1 and half-life.

Just cuz she's hot doesn't mean she's any good in the sack - or a decent human being, for that matter.
