Ó

Now I know not all of you out there are Canadians or have ever been to Canada but its still nice to remember your brothers to the north and why not take a moment to wish them a happy birthday?  After all its not everyday you turn 145 now is it?

Most people would think that Canada doesn't have much to contribute to the video game industry but you would be surprised.  Canadians have made their way into probably just about every major video game developer studio there is and companies like EA and Ubisoft even have studios in the great white north. So what right? Well would you believe that the EA’ video game studio in Canada (both its largest and oldest studio) is responsible for titles and series like Need for Speed, Skate, NHL, FIFA, and the Sims 3. Who would have thunk it right?

Well that’s only EA and like I said Ubisoft has a studio in Montreal and Quebec City and have been responsible for games on just about every platform since 2006.  Ubisoft has been involved in series and titles like Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell, Assassins Creed, Far Cry, and Prince of Persia. All of which are big titles and played by more people than I could ever hope to count.  So how’s that for a Canadian contribution to the video game industry? And remember that is just two video game companies.  We haven’t even looked at the independent developers like Queasy Games who gave us Everyday Shooter. So be nice to your neighbors to the north.  We are good for more than just maple syrup.

With Canada’s birthday rapidly aproching I thought what better time to take a look at what Canada has contributid to the gaming world, so join me as we take a look at the suprisingly large contrabutions Canada has made.

no it on the 1st of July like every year, Monday is just a stat holiday to make it a long weekend. you cant change the date that a nation is born it would be like changing the 4th of July to the 5th... its just stupid.
