The reveal of Call of Duty: Elite, an "innovative new service that enriches gamers' Call of Duty multiplayer experience" was met with some degree of public backlash and confusion. And not without good reason.

The first person wargame genre has to be one of the most popular, but also most crowded markets in the current generation of gaming titles. The smidgen of information released by Activision on Elite pointed towards perhaps another attempt to alleivate cash from our collective wallets.

With the COD v Battlefield war of words in full swing, neither company can afford bad publicity as they fight for the hearts and minds of gamers. Thankfully, A FAQ over at the service's website puts into perspective alot of the negative buzz floating rouind the web. You can check it out here.

Elite will arrive with the release of Modern Warfare 3.

What do you think? Will you be signing up for Elite, or is this just another attempt to cash in on a successful franchise.

Personally I think the service will have limited appeal.

all that bullshit they say on their website should be free. it all sounds like stuff the next game should have as an improvement from MW2. if not, it's going to be the exact same game, with different campaign, and we all know no one plays MW for the campaign mode.

boycott this game. lets see how activision like it then... power is in ur hands people.. u can change the world and make it shape the way u want it. if activision is successful with their elite, then expect a lot of other companies doing the same with their big hitters.
take a stand.
