Activision has released the beta version of Call of Duty Elite on PlayStation Network, allowing select PS3 gamers to test out select features and functionality of its upcoming subscription-based digital community service.

"The Call of Duty Elite Beta, utilising Call of Duty: Black Ops, will test select features and functionality, including stat tracking, the use of custom player groups, competitive events and video sharing," notes Activision in the press release. The service will also receive a major update with some added new features when it officially launches on November 8th alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Although the basic features of Elite will be free, a premium subscription to the service is also available that will give hardcore users all the downloadable content for Modern Warfare 3, along with some extra perks at a much cheaper price. Xbox 360 gamers have been enjoying the beta for some time now, unfortunately, it won't be heading to the PC. Any of you guys signing up for this one?
