Bordelands 2 Adds Pre-Order Bonus |
Listed in: News Tags: borderlands 2, Gearbox Software, mechromancer
Gearbox Software, the company behind Borderlands 2, had a lot to show off this weekend at PAX East. Somewhere in the flurry of videos, screenshots and talks, the company mentioned that they’re working on an all-new class for the game, known as the “Mechromancer.” This new class is currently in the design phase and won’t be launched until sometime after the game’s initial release.

While the Mechromancer will be available as part of An as-of-yet unannounced DLC pack, Borderlands fans that pre-order Borderlands 2 will receive it for free. The DLC pack will land roughly 60-90 days after Borderlands 2, which is currently scheduled for launch in October.
Details are pretty scarce on the new class as it’s still in development, but a PAX video does confirm that the character will likely be able to summon or control a massive mechanical minion. Just as one would hope.
What do you think of new classes for Borderlands 2? Is DLC an effective method for delivering classes to games?
