BioWare Says Reports of ME3 DLC Bundled with Toys, etc. 'Inaccurate'

Somebody jumped the gun. About a week ago, Barnes & Noble and some other online retailers advertised Mass Effect 3 action figures and an art book that would come with DLC codes for the game. Using these codes, you would get access to something called "The Collector Assault Rifle" and other "character boosters." Well, it turns out that information was inaccurate, says BioWare's Mike Gamble, Associate Producer on ME3.

He also said that DLC will be coming, but what it will or will not be bundled with has yet to be determined. He also said he wasn't sure what form the DLC would take, but that it would be story-based like the DLC of Mass Effect 2.

Barnes & Noble certainly didn't pull the idea of action figure and art book DLC bundles out of thin air, so it's most likely a case of someone posting information early. And now BioWare has to walk it back. In a couple of weeks there will probably be an official press release.

Mass Effect 3 will be released on March 6th in North America and March 9th in Europe. There will also be a demo available February 14th.
