38 Studios collapsed, and took Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning developer Big Huge Games along with it. And while Rhode Island is preparing to auction off 38’s intellectual property, Big Huge’s devs appear to be rising from the ashes. Epic Games has just announced the opening of its latest branch, Impossible Studios—which just so happens to be filled with devs ousted during the fall of 38.

Impossible Studios will be helmed by Big Huge’s former general manager, Sean Dunn. Most of the other employees also had some sort of role at Big Huge. So what task will Impossible be taking on first? Infinity Blade: Dungeons. Not much is known about this title beyond the fact that it’s a prequel to the original Infinity Blade, and will also be aimed squarely at iOS devices.
Oh, and it’s apparently a dungeon crawler:
What are your thoughts on Impossible Studios, 38 Studios, Big Huge Games and Epic?
