Battlefield unlikely to go Multiplayer Only |

Battlefield 3 is a game on a very extensive list that I have not played this year and keep hearing about and try my hardest not to bite the face off people who have nearly spoiled Arkham, Deus and of course, this. But something you can never really spoil is a multiplayer experience...unless it's a co-op experience. However, the multiplayer only aspect is what apparently rules the gaming experience as it stops most, if not all pre-owned sales. EA has however decided to stick to their guns.
"The single player experience is important" EA exec, Frank Gibeau, said during an investor call over the weekend, "it's a great way to get fans into the experience, have them train up and get ready for the multiplayer. And a lot of fans just enjoy having that single player experience. So I think you have both", which is a good sign and the only thing that separates itself from other games.
"Clearly the multiplayer is the richer opportunity for us because of the services opportunity in keeping customers engaged 365. Fortunately, Battlefield, as a franchise, since the late 90's has been configured around multiplayer and I think that's why you're seeing such a popularity around the design", Gibeau is clearly showing the importance of individual creativity from other games.
CEO John Riccitello was on the investor call and discussed how vital it awas to bring in new players and show off more with the trailers and single player campaign. "Remember as well that single player is often how new players ramp into the game. It's a way for new players to get exposed to a new franchise", there needs to be more investing developers who think like this.

Unless you're counting bot games...lol...

Bad Company is not really part of the Battlefield series, you can count those as spin-offs and just disregard them altogether.
It would be more appropriate to direct this question towards Call of Duty.
