Well, surprise, surprise, surprise... It looks like Sony has landed a big head start from its competitors, securing timed-exclusive rights to publish first all Battlefield 3's upcoming contents before anyone else.

In a post over at the US PlayStation Blog, DICE junior product manager Tommy Riddling announced that starting with the first DLC pack of Battlefield 3, "Back to Karkand," all upcoming "full-blown expansion packs for the game will appear one week early exclusively on PS3."
If you missed out our post before, "Back to Karkand" is a multiplayer expansion which features four legendary maps from Battlefield 2 that have been revamped using the Frostbite 2 physics. It also includes new weapons and vehicles, unique in-game dog tags, new persistence, as well as new Trophies. For those who can't wait to join the action, an open beta of the game is slated to go live on September 29th on all platforms.
This is a big deal for Sony as Microsoft has already secured a timed exclusivity on all Call of Duty DLCs. The question now is... what about the PC gamers?
