The last two times Batman has graced our gaming consoles and PCs, things have gone pretty well. Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City were both critically acclaimed titles that offered hours of delicious Dark Knight-themed fun and sold by the millions.

So it’s no surprise that Warner Bros. confirmed a third game in the series, due in 2013. What is surprising, however, are rumors that Rocksteady, the studio responsible for the first two games, won’t be involved with the project. Instead, it looks as though Spark Unlimited may be taking the reins.

We’ll just have to wait and see. Spark Unlimited is currently working on Lost Planet 3 and Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, so perhaps these rumors are a tad misplaced. Either way, news of a new Batman game is a net gain for the community. Especially those of us that enjoy the antics of the caped crusader.
