Another Tomb Raider movie in the works |

Hollywood Reporter reports that a new Tomb Raider film will be coming soon, as produced by King and Tim Headington. The question on everybody's mind now is this: will Angelina Jolie be back on board to reprise her role? No official word has yet been made on the matter, but folks are quick to make the connection between King and Jolie. King was the producer of The Tourist, Angelina Jolie's latest flick alongside Johnny Depp.
GK Films said that their goal for this new Tomb Raider movie is to "create daring new adventures for the young and dynamic Lara Croft." If that's the case, could they be looking for a younger actress who could play Lara? I mean, no offense to Angelina, she sure is very dynamic still, what with six kids running around, but if that's the storyline that the producers and writers choose to take, then maybe they should find someone younger indeed.
Add to that, speculations are running high that this film iteration will actually be an origins story. Apart from that however, much is left to be known on what fans can expect from this new Tomb Raider movie. If you think about it actually, it ties up nicely with the reports which came out back in December that Square Enix is coming out with a new game, simply called Tomb Raider, that will delve into Lara's origins as a treasure hunter.
Said Crystal Dynamics head, Darrell Gallagher, back then, "Forget everything you knew about Tomb Raideri. This is an origins story that creates Lara Croft and takes her on a character definining journey like no other."
The first two films raked in a whopping US$ 432 million worldwide, proving that lara croft's strong pull in the market.

Sadly, the odds of this movie being any good are slim to none, since Hollywood will Hollywoodize it (work in a love interest or some other nonsense to make it just like every other movie out there).
As for Angelina, I seriously doubt it and that's a good thing. While her performances were decent and she's a pretty good actress for the types of roles she's usually cast in, she was never the right fit for Lara. Lara isn't the type who would drop her towel in front of her butler in response to his comment that she should be more lady-like. Jolie is all about the sultry sexy roles but Lara was never one to flaunt her sexiness--she's more of the quiet kind of sexy.
