Aliens: Colonial Marines Pushed Back to Autumn

There were rumors swirling around earlier this week that Aliens: Colonial Marines had been pushed back from its spring release date. Someone spotted an autumn release date on the game's official site and Sega wasn't saying a word. Then the release date on the site got changed back to spring. Then the above picture was posted on Gearbox's Twitter page, leading many to believe a trailer was incoming.

But ultimately the rumor proved to be true. Gearbox has indeed confirmed that they've moved the game back to an autumn release, saying that creating the game has been a "process of creativity and invention and those don't necessarily follow the structure of an assembly line." They also said they didn't want to "sacrifice the creative process just for the sake of following a blueprint" and that they have prioritized creative discovery over release dates.

Sounds good to me. There's plenty to play in the meantime.
