Aliens: Colonial Marines has been pushed back all the way to early next year, but in the meantime Gearbox is putting out a little bit of info here and there to whet our appetites. In the dev diary below, they let us know again and again what fans they are of the franchise and they hope that their passion for the franchise translates well into the game. Plus, there are lots of gratuitous shots of them trying to look cool. Fun.

One thing that is a little surprising is the revelation that they met with director Ridley Scott, who directed the first Alien movie and Prometheus, among many other unrelated movies. Scott famously disregards all the other Alien movies after his own (he had nothing to do with them), so it's surprising that he'd want anything to do with a video game. Still, it's good to see him involved no matter how small that involvement is.

Plus, somebody mentions wanting to do a Blade Runner game. Yes, please.
