Ubisoft is out there saying that they estimate that they've sold more than 3.5 million copies of Assassin's Creed III in just the first week of the game's release, doubling that of what Assassin's Creed: Revelations did in its first week last year. Unfortunately for Ubisoft these numbers weren't able to make it into their latest financial report, the period for which ended on September 30th.
In that report, Ubisoft reported a €32.3 million loss during the "summer drought." We're in Q4 now, when a lot of AAA games come out, and Ubisoft expects to soar. Ubi also hyped Far Cry 3 a bit, saying that it "has achieved among the best playtest scores in Ubisoft's history."
In related news, Ubisoft confirmed that the Assassin's Creed Anthology that turned up online yesterday is indeed the real deal. It will be out November 30th and cost £119.99 (just under $200, as was theorized). It will have all the games and all the DLC, so: Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood - The Da Vinci Edition, Assassin's Creed: Revelations - The Ottoman Edition, and Assassin's Creed III.
