Avalanche Working on New IP |

Remember all of those Just Cause 3 rumors swirling around over the last few weeks? Looks like we can finally put them to bed, as Avalanche Studios has finally revealed what it’s actually been working on. The new game, titled Project Mamba, is a completely new franchise aimed at PC and console systems sometime in 2014.
The developer is planning to add a few more employees, bumping up to 50 in order to handle the stress of developing a game form the ground up. Most of the work will occur at the New York office, which has only recently been established. Since the game is scheduled for 2014, you can probably count on picking it up on your Xbox Loop/PlayStation 4.
This may come as a letdown for Just Cause fans, although it’s certainly possible the studio is working on both games. Then again, if you have to hire more people to handle one of your games, that doesn’t really indicate that you have people to spare on another project. Who knows?
There aren’t many details on what we should expect from Project Mamba beyond its release window and the destination consoles. We’ll keep you updated as information rolls in over the next few months.
