QJ: While I think it's far from a flaw in the game, JSJ has no real graphics to speak of, were there any plans for it to have a full graphical system?

DW:We're still trying to work that out. At the very least, the game could use some user-friendly menus, for selecting different options and so forth.

QJ: JSJ is such a breakout hit but what are you guys currently working on? And what dream games would you guys make in the future?

DW: We're gearing up to begin production on Mutazione, an action-adventure game that Nils has been concept-ing for a long time now. I'm eager to get that project off the ground. I'm also always working on new physical/installation games. Besides J.S. Joust, I've been working on a number of other PlayStation Move games. Perhaps the most interesting one is Beacons of Hope, which I'm working on together with David Kanaga. It's a no-graphics horror game for ~15 people, played in a large pitch black room. You can read more about it here. I'm very excited about it.

QJ: What was your favourite game growing up and do you think it's inspired games in the past or games you want to make?

DW: Oh man, too many games to list! I will mention, I spent a lot of time in college playing the famous parlor/psychology game Mafia (also known as Werewolf). That game has had a huge impact on the way I think about game design, multiplayer games, and social interaction.

Again, thank you to Douglas Wilson and the guys from DGF for answering my questions. I'm unfortunately in Australia but if you see or hear about getting a chance to play JSJ, you have to play it. It looks like the most fun you could have. Also congratulations on the nomination for the Independent Games Festival for the Seamus McNally Grand Prize, Nuovo Award and several honorable mentions. We hope you guys win.
