Soldiers of Future Beta 3 - PSP
With games like Call of Duty dominating the charts year after year, sometimes it's hard to even remember a time when shooters weren't made in three dimensions. However, if you can best recall the days of the classics you can probably recall the 2D era if you think hard enough. It was a time where side-scrolling was king, and there may not have been many weapons to choose from, but each one was equally deadly to handle the task at hand. This homebrew called Soldiers of Future works to replicate that era with its simple animation style and gameplay mechanics. With running, jumping, and shooting being your main ways to survive, you'll have to have quick reflexes over tactical knowledge to do well in this early effort.

Beta 3 is indeed special though because it does add the ability to drop a landmine on to the playing field by pressing the triangle button. These powerful add-ons can be bought through high player performance. Speaking of performance, this beta also allows for much more fluid gameplay with less lagging than the previous release. The health bar has also been revised, and there is even a new shield that can be used with triangle as well to make sure that snazzy display meter doesn't hit zero too quickly. If you're looking for a fresh but classic PSP experience, this beta is certainly one way to solve that problem.
If playing a game like the classics isn't enough, then maybe this new emulator on the next page is more your style.
