The good thing about Showtime MediaCenter is that there are several addons available, thus opening up the functionality of the homebrew app. There's no need to wait on Andreas Oman, the guy we all know as the Lonely Coder. When you come to think of it, he's not alone at all.
Two of the more popular plugins that are available for Showtime are the YouTube and Navi-X plugins, both of which are maintained by facanferff. Both have been updated recently, so let's take a look at each.
Youtube Plugin v1.4
This plugin does exactly what the name says. It allows you to browse Youtube right from your PS3. Not only that, you can browse through channels and [free] movies as well. facanferff has also provisioned for live video streams, if and when Showtime is updated to support them.
Navi-X
As for Navi-X, this plugin aggregates content like a RSS Feed. With this, you can go through lists generated by yourself or by others, and be able to view the content that lies within. It's useful for sharing playlists of your favorite videos and what not.
