Japanese PS3 Games Getting English Hacks |
Listed in: Hacks and Exploits Tags: english patch, ps3 hacks, tales of vesperia
Well the guys behind that are now working on the same sort of deal for TalesOf Vesperia, a 2009 PS3 game that wasn't one of the ones lucky enough to get over here in the West. Just like the Fatal Frame 4 patch, it will only work with a homebrew enabled console, as that's how the patch is loaded. That said, the guys are going to release a text version of the game's massive translated script so all of you will be able to enjoy it.
The only problem is that I can't see a translated text file being too useful, unless you had a very faithful friend sitting next to you as you played, reading out everything that's happening in English.
The patch has an expected release date of 'sometime this year'. Nice.
What games would you guys love to see translated?

As for games I want to see translated that aren't being worked on I'd say Tales of Xillia if it never comes West.

The PS3 version has a new playable character, new scenarios, and about twice as much audio recorded dialogue as the X360 game.
As for "The only problem is that I can't see a translated text file being too useful, unless you had a very faithful friend sitting next to you as you played, reading out everything that's happening in English."
It's a shame that some people are not used to reading subtexts. Even more so that they can't even understand how it would be useful. Many games have optional audio language, and I've been playing them just fine.
