Yesterday, it came to light that Zadow from PS3Hax reversed and uploaded the Cobra USB payload. All that needed to be done from this point was the porting of the payload to other dongles. With this, users can enjoy all the features that the Cobra USB dongle had to offer without having to break the bank to get one.

However, some developers and sceners are saying that Zadow did not do anything at all. Instead, all he did was pass on information and files that were already available. Here's what some had to say on the matter:

/GriFFin @ PS3Crunch:

Well guess what it is still uncracked. -- After much digging thru the 77meg RAR that was Zadow's Gift, it turns out to be nothing more then a bunch of already existing info, and his IDA Pro logs of trying to debug the payload and firmware updater system. -- Plus some info on how 'mmCM' (aka) 'multiMAN' does it system core updates also. -- Really not very useful to anyone, and it will not allow even the best mind in porting over the info to other devices, or even in making the needed patches to produced a new CFW with the Cobra features built-in.

CrashSerious

I had a big long email started (about halfway done) detailing every file in there and just gave up due to the number of things that were junk. Mostly, it looks like files we already have, unselfed eboot.bins (congratulations on using unself or scetool), a corrupt ida database, some meaningless/worthless logs and who knows what else. I did look at the corrupt idb to make sure it actually "looked like"an idb. It actually did at a glance--- so atleast it's not like the last time and he was trying to pass off a linux binary as lv0 decrypted or some crap like that.... oh wait... he did do that, didn't he @defyboy.

This is just some of the statements that have arisen over the matter. It will be interesting to see if Zadow has a rebuttal for all of these claims. That's if he does. You can read up on what others had to say regarding the matter over at PS3Crunch.
