Yakuza: Of The End being localized? |
Listed in: Games Tags: Sega, yakuza: dead souls, yakuza: of the end
Just about a month ago, Sega announced that they're creating a new Yakuza-centric studio led by series mastermind Toshihiro Nagoshi. Along with the announcement came news of a new numbered entry in the franchise, tentatively called Yakuza 5.
The new Yakuza studio is also working on a sequel to the PSP release, Yakuza: Black Panther. Now it seems there's another Yakuza game being thrown into the mix. Judging by the title, it doesn't seem to be a new one, though.

Gaming news site CVG reports that the website for The Trade Marks and Designs Registration Office of the European Union has a listing for a Sega game called Yakuza: Dead Souls. The lack of a number and the whole "dead" thing seems to point to a localized release of Yakuza: Of The End.
Yakuza: Of The End was a PS3-exclusive Yakuza spinoff that put the series' main protagonist, Kazuma Kiryu, and recurring characters Goro Majima, Ryuji Goda, and Shun Akiyama in the middle of a zombie-infested version fo Kamurocho. It came out in Japan back in June.
Most Yakuza spinoffs never made it out of Japan, but Of The End already feels tailor made for an international release that it's not going to be much of a surprise if this assumption turns out to be correct. We still have to wait for further details from Sega, of course.

It does have attributes, but it always broke the deal for me at some point.
Funny thing is the yakuza games always did something unnecessarily stupid to ruin an otherwise decent game, just like practically every game sega makes does.
