Trademark reveals Ni no Kuni's North American title

During this year's Tokyo Game Show, Level-5 officially gave Ni no Kuni: Shiroki Seihai no Joō, the PS3 version of Ni no Kuni: Shikkoku no Madōshi, an early 2012 North American release window. Now it appears that the studio has finally decided on a name for the role playing game's localized version.

A NeoGAF forum member has come across a trademark for Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch filed by Level-5 with the United States Patent and Trademark office. The filing date is shown as September 26, 2011. You can find the listing here.

Ni no Kuni, which was developed by Level-5 in collaboration with famed animation studio Studio Ghibli, stars a boy named Oliver who ends up in the world of Ninokuni, an alternate universe that runs parallel to his own. There, Oliver meets alternate versions of people he knows as he tries to look for a way to revive his dead mother.

The PS3 version will start at roughly the same point as the Nintendo DS original and follow its plot. The story will start to diverge somewhere near the middle of the game, though, so even if you've already played the DS version (which is still only available in Japanese) the PS3 version should hold some interest aside from the fancier graphics.
