Tecmo Koei's Team Ninja Unmask 2011 event held in Japan earlier has brought more details about Ninja Gaiden 3 to light.

Players who love the punishing difficulty of earlier Ninja Gaiden games won't be disappointed with Ninja Gaiden 3. While demoing the game's hard mode, one of the developers had to die three times before finally calling it quits and switching back to normal mode.

The multiplayer mode also got its time in the spotlight. Apparently, players won't be having trouble picking out their character amidst a sea of Ryus. Each player will be able to create their own custom ninja.

Tecmo Koei also released the following new video of the game featuring what appears to be story-related footage. Ryu's right arm looks pretty messed up by some kind of curse, although personally I suspect that's just because of all the blood that's been splashed on it throughout his career. Hey, you never know what weird disease you'll get from gallons upon gallons of ninja blood.

Of course, apart from Ninja Gaiden 3, there was also one other highly anticipated game that got a lot of love during the event: Dead or Alive 5. While details on the game remain scarce, it has been confirmed for a simultaneous 2012 release on PS3 and Xbox 360. That will make Dead or Alive 5 the first game on a PlayStation home console (not handheld) since Dead or Alive 2.

Below is the first trailer released for the game. It's pre-alpha footage, but so far it looks great, especially the environment. Ryu's in it again, by the way. You know, Ryu, this is why you got cursed. You kick, gut, and maim enough people and something bad's bound to happen to you.
