Game developer and publisher Natsume has finally announced a release date for Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny. The more action-oriented Harvest Moon spin-off is now all set for a September 27 launch for the PS3 and Wii home consoles. Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny marks the first time a Rune Factory game will be released on the Sony PS3 platform.

"Featuring a vast region to explore, a wonderful cast of characters, and a huge variety of activities to enjoy, Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny is sure to make waves," gushes Natsume's CEO and president, Hiro Maekawa. "Packed with action, adventure, and romance, Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny has something for everyone!"

The game has lifelong friends Aden and Sonja awaken one day to find both of their souls are now trapped in the same body. On top of this unusual calamity, their home, Fenith Island, has replaced by a strange island populated with unfamiliar faces. Only by exploring this new world will they be able to solve the mystery of this curse and save their beloved island.

Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny came out in Japan back in February. The game's localized version made its first public appearance at E3 2011.
