More details have come forth regarding the Resident Evil HD collection we reported on a couple of days ago. Capcom formally announced today that Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Code: Veronica X , an updated version of the original Resident Evil Code: Veronica, are indeed making the jump into the HD era.

Resident Evil 4 puts players in the shoes of secret agent Leon Kennedy as they explore a town overrun by cultists, mutants and mind-controlled villagers. The HD version will contain all the bonus content available in previous versions of the game, including the Separate Ways epilogue starring Ada Wong.

Resident Evil Code: Veronica X takes place three months after Raccoon City went up in flames. Claire Redfield is still in search of her missing brother Chris. Her investigation leads to her being captured and transported to the remote Rockfort Island. She eventually escapes along with fellow inmate Steve Burnside, but first they have to survive the games concocted by insane island commander Alfred Ashford and his evil sister Alexia. The HD remaster will include the updated and new cut scenes added in Veronica X.

Apart from enhanced graphics, no new gameplay additions have been revealed. Both games will be made available as downloadable titles on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live this fall. A more specific date has yet to be announced.
