Report: Slant Six making squad-based Resident Evil shooter

Word has it that SOCOM: Confrontation developer Slant Six will be using the tricks they learned and applying them to a squad-based shooter entry in the Resident Evil franchise. Rumors about this new game first surfaced late last year, but StickSkills reports that the curtains on it may soon be lifted in the next issue of OXM.

The game, called Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, will reportedly cast players as members of Umbrella Corporation's clean-up crew. Instead of mops, however, they're armed with guns. Teams of up to four players have to erase all evidence of the Raccoon City outbreak following the events of Resident Evil 2. Enemies will consist of a mix of humans -- both survivors and some US Spcial Forces teams -- and some not-so-human-anymore monstrosities. Leon Kennedy is also reportedly among those players will be targeting.

Neither Capcom nor OXM have commented on the veracity of the report yet. The next issue of OXM, which will allegedly sport a Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City cover as seen below, will hit stands on April 5.

i will never ever buy another game from slant six. They made socom confrontation and it was buggy and just a badly made game. it took them forever to release patchs, they made dlc first before fixing any problems and it took them forever to do anything.
as a dev they are jokes. i recommend everyone to pass on any game made by slant six.

really? squad based resident evil sounds like an ok idea...but to reverse the role? who wants to play as the bad guys?! and i agree with daman1900...slant six is crap. f**k it, not interested.

we can safely say this game is fucked.
i wont be buying it if slant6 make it. its the end of resident evil franchise too. just like socom.

could it be an april fools joke. Thought slant six worked exclusivley for playstation.
