Red Faction: Battlegrounds dated, priced

Sony's once again giving PlayStation Plus subscribers a little extra something. Those who shelled out subscription fees for the PSN premium service will get Volition and THQ's Red Faction: Battlegrounds for free.

 

This was confirmed in an email sent out by Sony recently. The same Sony missive revealed that Battlegrounds will be available for download on the US PSN on April 5 for US$ 9.99. The same date presumably applies to the Xbox Live version as well. If you really want to get the game for free, you can still get a PlayStation Plus subscription before March 25th to do so.

 

Red Faction: Battlegrounds is a top-down, twin-stick vehicular combat game featuring cars, mechs, and rovers. The game's multiplayer component will allow up to four players on the same screen. Various achievements in Battlegrounds will also unlock unique elements in the upcoming Red Faction: Armageddon.

I think it is well worth it, if you like the network games and such. You pay $18 for $100+ worth of content, sure you can't choose what is free, but they are giving out full PSN games for free on there release date. And Red Faction: Battlegrounds is note the first to do so.
