No MotorStorm: Apocalypse for Japan |
Listed in: Games Tags: Evolution Studios, Japan, motorstorm: apocalypse, Sony

Like a lot of other games, MotorStorm: Apocalypse was delayed in Japan due to the massive earthquake and tsunami that hit the country back in March. The game's release in other regions like North America, Europe, and New Zealand were affected as well.
While the game eventually got new release dates for the rest of the world, that won't be happening in Japan. Japanese gamers who really want to play the new Evolution Studios racer will have to import it as it has been outright canceled by Sony. No reason was given for the cancelation, but the game's devastated, post-apocalyptic setting should give us a big enough clue as to why.
MotorStorm: Apocalypse's delay wasn't the only thing that affected the game, though. Once it launched, its online features were absent due to the then-recent PlayStation Network breach.

I will concede that PR and there will ALWAYS be someone who'll nitpick for some attention, and Sony don't want risks after the hack fiasco.
Though it is a git of a reason to stop a game.
